The Native Transformational Education Center (NTEC) promotes Tribal community’s self-determination by supporting efforts to increase educational achievement of all students.
NTEC is a program of the Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods, a community-based, public charter high school and a partnership of the Yurok Tribe and College of the Redwoods’ community college.
KRECR opened in 2005 after two years of a community conversation about a brighter future for our young people.
Since 2005, KRECR has seen increases in student achievement, involvement in community, cultural and Native language knowledge and college-going rates.
Funded by a generous start-up grant from the
Walton Family Foundation,, NTEC provides resources and technical assistance to Native communities as they create charter schools in their communities.
